Yes, yes, yes. We all know:

"Tanita hates book-to-film adaptations."
However.

Sir Terry Pratchett often is an advisor, and even has a cameo when his books are adapted to film... and I love the chaotic, insane book, GOING POSTAL.

...so. Just might have to watch this.

I mean, David Suchet (Agatha Christie’s Poirot) is in it. DAVID. SUCHET.

No word on a release date, and no word on when it's going to get to the U.S. - I'll keep you posted.

I thought I was the only one who loved this crazy book! The trailer looks interesting.

Isn't it the best!!?
I'll try to record it and burn it to a DVD for you. It does look like they've got everything but his cloth-of-gold suit...

Pratchett? Suchet? Marvelous!

(I thought that Stardust was a particularly good book-to-film adaptation, even with some of its untrueness.)

I'd have to watch it just to catch the shadow of that Belgian twitch, that pinched moustache, the hope that he might accidentally refer to Miss Lemon...

Can you believe that of the Pratchett offerings I've only read the Tiffany Aching books plus Good Omens? I suppose it's a timing issue. I'm glad to know they'll be there, and that Pratchett is an advisor for the film. I like book-to-film adaptations when they end up being creations in their own right instead of being merely derivative. I have a great and terrible secret about a certain trilogy of movies that I prefer to the books.

I have to say, the Tiffany Aching book and Good Omens are probably my favorites of his--especially Good Omens, which I like to turn to when I need a good laugh. :)
