Beware of Boredom and Pop Music

As a sort of follow-up to TadMack's recent post about bored teens and their propensity for finding other ways to amuse themselves, the folks at AS IF! Authors Support Intellectual Freedom have posted additional information on the study in question, as well as their usual entertaining comments on the issue.

On a related note, YALSA and the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) have announced a new award for the best audiobook produced for children and/or young adults. To follow up on a different part of TadMack's recent post--the part about celebrity children's books--Stephen Hawking, along with his daughter, is going to write a children's book. To be honest, since he's somebody who has already written and published books, I expect a lot more out of his product than, say, some random celebrity in a totally different field.
