The Maze

Greek mythology is full of lush imagery and strange, fickle characters. The lives of the gods of Greek myth can seem a little over the top, filled with incomprehensible rivalries and interwoven with history and myth. When when author Patrice Kindl wrote Lost in the Labyrinth, she had somewhat of a daunting task set before her. How could she illuminate Greek mythology and also create an easily accessible novel?

Kindl creates personalities for the faceless characters of traditional myths and makes Knossos and ancient Crete alive in readers' imaginations. The tragic tale of the Minotaur and Theseus, and the story of life in the maze brings this complex mythology to life.
